At Soul Dance Academy, our baby and mother course are designed to create a nurturing and supportive environment for both mothers and their babies. 
Baby&Mother Sling Courses are a 6

-week course taking place the same time and day each week. For 5 weeks we will explore 4 types of dance styles. The course typically consists of gentle movement exercises that are suitable for both mothers and babies, incorporating elements of dance, yoga, and mindfulness.
Each Sesion will last one hour and be split in three parts:
1) warming up the body, learning the steps
2) dancing the choreography to music
3) streching and breathing exercices 
The structure typically includes warm-up exercises, simple choreography for both mother and baby, and relaxation and connection exercises towards the end of each class.
Our curriculum focuses on fostering a strong bond between mother and child, promoting gentle physical activity for postpartum recovery, and creating a sense of community and support among course participants. 
Soul Dance aims to provide a safe and welcoming space for new mothers and their babies to bond, move, and flourish together.

What do I need to bring to a Soul Dance Academy class with my baby?

When coming to a Sling Dance class with your baby, it's important to bring the essentials to ensure both you and your little one are comfortable. For yourself, bring comfortable clothing that allows for movement, as well as a bottle of water to keep hydrated during the class. For your baby, bring nappies, wipes, spare clothes in case of any accidents, your own sling for the class, any drinks or snacks your baby may need. By bringing these items, you'll be well-prepared to fully enjoy the dancing with your baby.

What happens if my baby doesn't want to stay in the sling?

At Soul Dance Academy, we understand that every baby is unique and may have different preferences. If your baby is not comfortable in the sling, you have the option to carry them in your arms or in a way that they prefer. It is completely okay if your baby is crying or seems unsettled during the class. Our instructors are trained to support you and your baby during the sessions, and we encourage you to do what feels most comfortable for both you and your little one. Our aim is to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every baby and caregiver can enjoy the benefits of dance and movement.

What if I miss a Sling Dance class at Soul Dance Academy?

At Soul Dance Academy, we understand that life can sometimes get in the way of attending every class. If you miss a class, unfortunately, the cost of that class is non-refundable. However, we encourage you to make up for the missed class by attending a similar class at another time, if available. Additionally, we offer the option to schedule a private lesson with one of our instructors for an additional fee. We want to ensure that you have the opportunity to make up for any missed instruction and continue progressing in your dance journey. Please contact our front desk to discuss your options and find the best solution for you.
